CASE STUDY 1
The Context
Almost two-thirds (61%) of the diseases that kill Indians are caused by Indians themselves. Lifestyle is the primary reason for cardiovascular deaths (45%), followed by chronic respiratory fatalities (22%), cancer (12%) and diabetes (3%). And, barring genetic predisposition, all of these are preventable if we control our salt, sugar and oil intake and bump up our exercise. The brief was simple: spread the message effectively with the help of a celebrity to as many people as possible.
The Solution
MCGM and Amar Gandhi Foundation started #EkChammachKam, an outdoor campaign that provided a touchpoint for a simple message – use one spoon less of oil, salt and sugar in your daily life. Krossover recommended Farhan Akhtar, a star who not only had mass appeal, but also epitomized health.
